"The wealth of experience and heart that Lawrence has is strongly shown in his teaching. Always honest and conducted with integrity.
As long as you are there to learn and grow, you can see and feel how fiercely he roots for you.
From having attended past Meisner classes with various tutors, my experience has been a mixed bag. A lot of them less enjoyable and pleasant than the previous. However, since doing Lawrence's courses, I noticed a difference between his approach and many of the other tutors I studied with in the past. You can still provide honest feedback whilst remaining ethical, respectful and kind.
The guidelines that I received during Lawrence's Meisner Stage 1 and 2 classes were more playful and specific. It served as a tool for me to intellectualise less and give myself permission to trust my ability to listen, connect and respond truthfully in that moment."

"Lawrence's classes are productive and playful.
He is truly invested in helping each actor achieve their full potential what ever they are working on.
His vast knowledge across multiple different acting & storytelling techniques provides a very practical approach to the Meisner Technique. "

"Lawrence facilitates a training environment that encourages bold behavior, care, and community. My access to happy/sad/angry has grown in ease and speed since this training (which I used to think was impossible). He absolutely knows what he's doing."

"Lawrence’s classes have been a real gift. For three hours each week, you’re immersed in a space that’s honest, challenging, and deeply creative. The teaching is passionate and fully committed — you can tell he genuinely cares about his students’ growth, and that he wants us to stretch, take risks, and do the work.
What I appreciate most is how much he puts of himself into the room. It’s not just about teaching a technique — it’s about creating a space where you can really discover something, both in the craft and in yourself. When you’re in that space, it’s safe, focused, and electric with possibility.
The other students are amazing — supportive, inspiring, and equally committed — and it’s become something of a ritual for me now: I show up each week not just to train, but to keep my passion alive.
If you’re serious about your acting and ready to grow, this is a powerful place to be. I’ve learned so much already, and I’m grateful for the work we do here."

"Capturing the influence of Lawrence Carmichael is challenging, as his impact on myself and other artists transcends words. In both the personal and professional realms, Lawrence's presence radiates a supreme level of expertise, fuelling the creative process for actors and directors alike. He is an indispensable part of our industry in both production and training environments whether that be as an actor, director, trainer, fight coordinator or intimacy director.
What sets Lawrence apart is not just his knowledge, but his innate ability to bring the best out of those around him. I've witnessed firsthand his talent for facilitating creative processes, striking the perfect balance between encouragement, firm guidance and empathetic support.
Inadvertently, he has had a profound impact on my practice and the development of my craft."

"Loz’s Meisner-based training has profoundly transformed my acting. It has opened channels to freer, more visceral emotion, sharpening my listening skills and teaching me to trust my impulses. Before this course, I doubted my ability to discern authenticity in myself and my scene partners. Now, I'm recognized as being really good at it.
The classroom Loz creates is one I deeply trust—a space where actors from all schools of thought and cross-training come together to explore through repetition and improvisation. This training has not only strengthened my emotional preparation but also deepened my understanding of authentic relationships.
I've also witnessed absolutly gorgeous moments from the other actors in this group, any of whom I'd expect to see taking up more and more space in the industry.
If you don't think Meisner is for you, I get it. It's not for everyone. But I can confirm that my acting with folks who have never touched Meisner is better than it was before. ((Also this is untraditional Meisner with scoops of practical aesthetics, Uta Hagen, etc - so there's crossover!!))"

"It feels like more than just acting training - we are on an expedition together, exploring the boundaries of human emotional and intellectual depth, searching for the holy grail of the human state: being natural, truthful, and whole in the moment with oneself.
It is by far the most challenging and rewarding training I have had. It teaches you more than how to be a better actor - it teaches you how to be a better human: to be there for others, to care deeply, to allow yourself to feel, and to open your heart.
I would highly recommend this experience to anyone, because it will impact not only your craft but your everyday life.
Thank you, Lawrence, for every moment you were there for each and every one of us. This is the way.

"Working with Lawrence is a full body and mind work out… in the very best way! His classes are always dynamic, challenging and a lot of fun. I have loved working with Lawrence over the past few years and his detailed direction on finding the physicality of a character have been transformative. If I could be in a rehearsal room with Lawrence 7 days a week I would!"

"Lawrence’s Body Mind Voice acting classes are a very special, and grounded place. Everyone I meet there leaves the room more silly, more open, and a more honest and intelligent actor."

"5 stars. Loz is incredible. If you're an actor who needs to get out of their head and into the moment on stage, Body Mind Voice is for you. I leave class in awe of the power our craft is capable of."

“Lawrence is as bold as he is sensitive. An intuitive teaching style so whatever you’re learning from him is organic and a direct response from what’s happening around him. Delivers exceptional levels of stage craft allowing you to fully embrace the space and your fellow actors. It was a joy to find out what matters most, to root yourself and to negotiate a scene/moment with a true sense of lucidity, trusting your body and Lawrence to guide you to letting go, turning your impulses into fully realised moments and feeling physically liberated!” Kim Hardy (UK Actor) Random Acts Of Shakespeare, On The Ropes, Proof, Richard III."
